Description

This session of the seminar aims at experimenting a new format where we can present and discuss the results of recently completed collective research projects. This session is devoted to the ERC project ALFA (alfa.hypotheses.org) conducted in Paris Observatory from 2017 to 2023 which was dedicated to the study of a late medieval astronomical tradition in Europe Alfonsine astronomy.

A first part of the presentation will be conducted by Richard Kremer and Matthieu Husson and will present the starting hypothesis of the project and state of the art when the project began, the different works and research produced and its main results in terms of publications, digital tools, and new research collectives. This will be followed by three presentations proposed by three postdocs of the ALFA projects -Eleonora Andriani, Nick Jacobson and Sophie Serra- which will highlights their personal research trajectory within the project ALFA and the new research perspectives they were able to construct in this context
