The microgravity environment can provide inherent advantages to study cold atom physics, including preparing atomic gases with lower temperature, longer coherence length, longer manipulation and interrogation time, which are important for exploring novel physical phenomena and improving the accuracy of quantum precision measurement. These advantages are the motivation of developing the cold atom payloads in space. In this presentation, I will introduce our work on space cold atom payloads for applications in physics research and atomic clocks.
