Description

The goal of this short workshop is to provide a historical retrospective of the different developments of matter wave interferometry (atoms, neutrons, molecules), from the first developments to modern applications. The talks by international experts of the field will present the journey from their first experiments tracing back to more than 30 years ago to nowadays projects.

This workshop represents an opportunity to meet informaly and discuss in a warm way for the persons involved in the field of matter-wave interferometry, in the nice environment of Paris Observatory.

A visit of the laboratories (atomic clock team and inertial sensor team) will be organized on Thursday at the end of the afternoon.

The workshop will end with the habilitation thesis defense of Remi Geiger on Friday afternoon and the ensuing cocktail at Paris Observatory.

The workshop is funded by CNRS, SIRTEQ (quantum technologies network in Ile de France region) and Conseil Scientifique de l'Observatoire de Paris through the PhyFOG action (fundamental physics and gravitational waves).
