Description

The school is dedicated to the production of planetary geological maps of the Moon and Mars with particular emphasis to landing sites characterization.

The 2023 Winter School will be largely hands-on, with the inclusion of seminars and time for asynchronous interaction and individual/project mapping work.

The school covered all the topics that are necessary to produce high-quality planetary cartography including QGIS Open Source software use (project creation, digitalization, and layout), Hazard and trafficability of landing sites and machine learning applications for planetary geological mapping,

Seminars and talks from invited international guests are also foreseen.
